Trevose’s Harry Durnall and Harry Gwinnell – Winners of the Cornwall Junior Champion Club
On a hot and sunny bank holiday Monday, there was a total of 14 clubs that took part in the Junior Champion Club at a beautifully presented Mawgan Porth Golf Club on Monday 25th May 2026.
The format for the Junior Champion Club is an individual stableford, with the best two stableford scores out of three per club. It turned out to be a day of good scoring, with only 2 points seperating the top 3 clubs.
It was the junior golfers from Trevose that came out on top of the leaderboard, with their two best scores from three totalling (-7) 79 points for a one point winning margin over Truro (78 points). In third place were the team from St Austell on 77 points. For Trevose, Harry Durnall was in the final group and his excellent score of 41 points was enough for Trevose to win when added to Harry Gwinnell’s solid round of 38 points.
Truro’s Jack Hick scored the best of the day 42 points and was added to Harvey Pascoe’s 36 points to finish in second place. St Austell’s two counting scores was Luca Ferguson-Smith’s 40 points, along with Owen Withers 37 points.
The prize for Trevose will be a trip to Woodhall Spa, the home of England Golf on the 11th and 12th August where they represent Cornwall and compete against other county winners from across England.
