The London Golf Club looked its usual beautiful self as our field of 72 players proceeded up the long and winding drive in the early morning sun. Alas, it was not to last as the clouds rolled over and the temperature dropped dramatically. However, the level of enthusiasm was (mostly!) undented and a good – albeit challenging – day was had by all on the International course.

There was a three-way tie at the top of the table on 41 points, and taking the honours on countback was the pairing of Helen Johnson (Sidcup) and Sue Charnley (Shortlands) – many congratulations, ladies! Runners-up were Brian Bertie and Ben Clark (Kings Hill), with the Lydd duo of Craig Fagg and Scott Balcomb completing the top three.
Nearest the pin on the 4th for the women was Margaret Jeffs (Redlibbets) with Birchwood Park’s Steve Lucas claiming the men’s equivalent on the 12th.
Longest drive bragging rights went to Lydia Hoare (Redlibbets) and Andrew Stelfox (Mid Kent).
Our sincere thanks go to the team at London Golf Club for their warm welcome and excellent hospitality: this has certainly become an event that our players look forward to each year!
Finally, thank you to Marilyn and Ian for kindly giving up their time to help out.
