Situated in the beautiful Cheshire countryside just 15 miles south of Manchester on the outskirts of Macclesfield, Prestbury Golf Club was founded in 1920 and boasts a Harry Colt designed course ranked by Golf World and National Club Golfer as one of the Top 100 in England. We have recently ranked as number four in the region of Cheshire and were described by Rob Smith (Golf Monthly, 2023) as ‘an excellent course with that perfect mix of challenge and physical beauty. The bunker refurb looks terrific and our group loved the whole experience’
The course makes the most of the dramatic changes in elevation afforded by the hilly terrain. The nature of the site coupled with the sandy subsoil means that the course drains exceptionally well.
We take great pride in describing ourselves as a true, traditional private members’ Club. Our focus is on golf and delivering the best possible service to our members.

Societies at Prestbury Golf Club
Visiting societies are welcome at Prestbury where golfers can enjoy one of the finest inland courses in the north west, a fact not lost on administrators at county and national level who have rewarded the excellent facilities with numerous matches and championships including the English Seniors and Open Championship Regional Qualifying. Our normal “society day” is a Thursday and a typical format may well be:
– Coffee & Bacon Rolls on arrival
– 18 holes of golf
– Followed by a 2 or 3 course evening meal.
The success of these events has resulted in a large number of societies returning to us year on year so you are advised to book early to avoid disappointment. Prices vary depending on the time of year, the number of players and catering choices. Please call the office on 01625 828241 (option 4) and we will tailor a package to suit your requirements.
